NO SPONSORSHIP, CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO HOUSTON Alava Consulting is looking for a Network Engineer for our client. This will be a year-long contract located in West Houston. This is a hybrid position with 4 days in the office. Responsibilities
Act as a resource for reported network performance or application performance issues Manage and support the network monitoring and configuration management software Provide technical support for field networks to include industrial switches, routers, and wireless bridges Utilize service portal to manage and create service requests, outages, and change requests Identify innovative ways to utilize existing applications and technologies Forecast and coordinate management of change for scheduled maintenance weekends Effectively communicate with end users and peers around the world Qualifications
Extensive design, deployment and troubleshooting experience with large enterprises Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly articulate complex issues Project management and customer interfacing capabilities Experience with Palo Alto products including Panorama, PA NextGen Firewalls and Prisma Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewall and wireless hardware Experience with Solarwinds Network Management suite of applications Experience with Wireshark and packet-level analysis and application performance root cause analysis Experience troubleshooting OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Firewalls, IPSEC/SSL VPNs, DMVPNs, Spanning Tree and network security High level of experience with Cisco Nexus Data Center Architecture High level of experience with Cisco ISE/NAC Working knowledge of SNMP, NetFlow, IP SLA and other management protocols Job details
