Ideal candidate will be local to Austin, TX. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Back-End Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer who thrives in an Agile environment and is enthusiastic about building scalable, maintainable, cloud-native back-end services. You'll work with modern Azure technologies (App Service, Functions, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Service Bus), contribute to an expanding API ecosystem, and play a key role in modernizing a financial technology platform. Responsibilities
Design, code, test, and deploy scalable back-end services and RESTful APIs using
C# and .NET (primarily .NET 8+) . Develop and maintain C# applications with proper API versioning, status codes, and documentation. Create normalized database schemas, write efficient
T-SQL queries and stored procedures , and optimize performance. Build and maintain applications leveraging
Azure Cosmos DB . Write comprehensive
unit and integration tests ; ensure CI/CD best practices. Collaborate with front-end, QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver complete solutions. Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to
clean-code standards . Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex production issues. Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing. Qualifications
Required Skills
Proficiency in
C# and .NET
(6/7/8+ preferred). Strong experience designing and developing
RESTful APIs . Solid SQL Server/Azure SQL knowledge, including query optimization and performance tuning. Experience with
Azure cloud services , particularly Service Bus and Cosmos DB. Familiarity with core Azure PaaS (App Service, Functions, Container Apps). Proficiency in unit and integration testing frameworks (xUnit, MSTest, etc.). Strong knowledge of Git-based source control and CI/CD concepts. Experience working in an
Agile/Scrum
environment. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Desired Skills
Experience with Docker and containerized applications. Familiarity with .NET Framework 4.x and system modernization. Knowledge of Azure monitoring tools (App Insights, Log Analytics). Experience with API Management platforms. Understanding of
microservices architecture . Exposure to front-end or full-stack development (React/TypeScript a plus). Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 2-5 years
of professional software development experience focused on .NET back-end services. Hands-on experience deploying .NET applications to Azure PaaS in a production environment. History of delivering features in Agile/Scrum, including writing automated tests and participating in code reviews. Experience in financial services, platform engineering, or regulated industries (preferred). Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
Other relevant Azure, .NET, or DevOps certifications. Job Details
