Room Service Server (Union Extra/On-call) at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. This union, non-management, part-time position is located in San Francisco. The Role - Overview

This critical role is responsible for serving guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods. Essential Functions Deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room, check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guests original order; transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality. Greet guests, describe items with vivid descriptions of origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to requests for tray removal within established time standards. Break down, clean, and set up room service tables, condiment setups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations. Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. Close guest checks accurately, securing room numbers and signatures; settle voided checks or complimentary meals as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of one year serving experience in an upscale environment. Extensive food and wine knowledge. Ability to establish rapport with guests and colleagues alike. High school education or equivalent experience is preferred. Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English. Flexible schedule; shifts may include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
