Software Engineer, Netcode
The Netcode team develops critical backend features that enhance the experience for those connecting their devices to the Viam platform. We are building the foundations of the viam-server and the viam-agent application, using Golang. This is a highly visible team that works across the stack from low-level Bluetooth all the way up to the cloud. Our immediate projects include: Expanding functionality in the gRPC API to reveal robot configuration and resource graph states. Enhancing communication stack stability for dependable and reliable connectivity. Developing diagnostic tools to ease the process of troubleshooting smart machine issues. This is a hybrid role in which you'll collaborate in our NYC office ~3 days a week. Youll be:
Part of a nimble backend team iterating rapidly to create significant impact. Influencing our applications architecture and broader technical direction. Developing backend services using Golang. Working with protocols like gRPC, WebRTC, and HTTP to enable cross-platform connectivity. Learning and advancing the use of WebRTC in smart machine communication.
