The “Solutions Delivery Lead: Microsoft Technologies Architect” is an experienced leader who will develop and leverage relationships across the firm and our vendor landscape to structure, plan, evangelize, and coordinate our use and adoption of Microsoft technologies across our organization. Responsible for defining, budgeting, planning, and executing a comprehensive Microsoft capabilities strategy and roadmap that increases productivity across the enterprise in all Microsoft technologies. This role is responsible for overseeing decision-making, solutions architecture, and governance of Office, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Office 365, Azure (PaaS, IaaS), .NET, and all Microsoft-based solutions in alignment with firm strategy, architecture, and compliance standards, best practices, business processes, and functional requirements. This position works across, and in partnership with, Application Development, Service Delivery, and Infrastructure teams to identify, research, discuss, design, and implement key enterprise and project-specific architecture standards for the firm’s use of all Microsoft technology. Leads key Microsoft-based architectural design projects as necessary. Operates as a business-savvy technical leader across the organization. A key element of success will be to build and maintain effective stakeholder, peer, and partner relationships (including with Microsoft and Microsoft’s partner network) in order to drive results and efficiencies. You will work with functional and technical teams across all aspects of the firm, engaging and providing thought leadership and mentorship around associated architecture, peripheral technology capabilities, and roadmaps. Leads strategy, best practices, and architecture in the design, development, and deployment of scalable and secure Microsoft-based solutions. Researches, designs, documents, builds, and pilots prioritized topics for Microsoft technology architecture and development standards. Articulates functional capabilities, in alignment with technical standards and license/compliance requirements, that drive best practices and the effective use of Microsoft capabilities. Leads or assists with demonstrations, evaluations, and proof of concepts. Drives and initiates consulting for business process enablement within Microsoft and peripheral technologies (e.g., SharePoint, Office, Nintex, Dynamics, O365) in both on-premise and cloud scenarios. Works closely with Development, Infrastructure, and Service Delivery teams to understand existing capabilities, planned initiatives, and how architecture standards might impact the environment. Identifies potential opportunities to improve business processes through envisioning and strategy assessments with client-facing stakeholders. Mentors peers in proper Microsoft techniques, methods, standards, and processes. Consults with and advises internal customers, Microsoft resources, IT leadership, application development principals, and Solutions Delivery leads on emerging Microsoft technology. Develops strategic relationships within Microsoft and the industry, stays abreast of industry trends and technology directions through certifications, education, forums, and user groups, and uses that knowledge to refine the Microsoft architecture as needed. Acts as the conduit between the client, Microsoft, and Microsoft-technology partners, working with vendors to influence strategy, solutions architecture, and functional capabilities that benefit professionals and clients. Monitors and evaluates progress in implementing the Microsoft technology strategies using metrics and KPIs. Supports communication and change management planning for Microsoft technology solutions and architectures. Collaborates with senior management in developing policies, standards, and frameworks for Microsoft-based solutions governance, focusing on security and risk in a highly-regulated industry. Engages with the industry to learn about best practices, gain competitive and regulatory intelligence, and build excellence in governance and quality initiatives. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective; liaises with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and communication.
