Job Description
Must Have: BS in Computer Science or a related field Minimum 7+ years in Scala server backend development in Services (not Data Analytics) Solid experience and deep understanding of Scala programming, JVM, sbt Willingness to embrace Pure Functional Programming with Scala Development and implementation of highly scalable, secure, and concurrent software systems using HTTP, REST, WebServer, Caching, Resiliency, Responsive, and Concurrency strategies Experience with at least one Scala WebService SDK – Play, http4s, Spray, or others Experience developing REST APIs Experience using Agile framework tools and methodologies Experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure (preferred) or other cloud infrastructures Experience with Linux Operating Systems Nice to Have:
(Exposure/experience with any database and willingness to learn/adapt to NoSQL and Docker technologies) Experience with other Scala SDKs like ScalaZ, Shapeless, CATS Experience with Docker containerization technologies Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB, HBase) Scripting/automation programming experience Experience with performance testing tools/scripts like Gatling, JMeter
