Maintenance Engineer

Job Description Responsible for operation and maintenance of all interior and exterior lighting, kitchen equipment, swimming pools and equipment, ice machines, air conditioning equipment, plumbing fire control equipment, and guest room repairs. Responsibilities Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times. Perform all assigned preventative maintenance work (complete all guest rooms every 60 days). Perform all assigned work requests on all electrical and mechanical equipment. Follow specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings for installation, maintenance, and repair of structures and equipment. Use hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing devices to test, diagnose, and repair equipment. Detect malfunctions and repair equipment by dismantling and installing working parts. Make structure repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings; patch or replace plaster/plasterboard; paint walls, ceilings, and trim; cut and lay flooring (linoleum, tile, carpet, etc.). Record utility and equipment readings daily and maintain current period readings in the maintenance office. Clear clogged drains, replace plumbing fixtures, connect water supplies and drainage pipelines, and perform simple wiring and maintenance repairs. Re-key guest rooms as required. Address guest complaints within 30 minutes. Notify the Front Desk Manager or General Manager for proper follow-up if necessary. Report daily to the Chief Engineer or maintenance supervisor and areas of concern of the hotel. Maintain all maintenance spaces in a clean and orderly condition. Be prepared to clear sidewalks and entrances of ice and snow when necessary. Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with appearance standards. Be able to move luggage or packages weighing up to 50 lbs. Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including those in the employee handbook. Perform other duties as assigned and capable of performing.
