Locums OB Hospitalist - Jackson, Michigan Start Date: As soon as credentialedPosition Type: LocumsSetting: Clinic, Hospital, and Call Coverage Schedule & Coverage

  • Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Call: 24-hour in-hospital call shifts

  • Call Shared With:

    • 2 other OB/GYNs

    • Center for Family Health

  • Reason for Coverage:

    • Difficulty filling open positions

    • Community OB/GYN retiring from call group

Practice Details

  • Physicians in Group: 2

  • Exam Rooms: 10

  • EMR: EPIC

  • Trauma Level: II

  • Support Staff: RNs (intake), MAs, CSR (front desk)

  • Onsite Lab & Ultrasound: Yes

Clinical Requirements Obstetrics - Inpatient & Outpatient

  • Low-Risk Pregnancy (e.g., twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis)

  • High-Risk Pregnancy (e.g., diabetes, cardiac disease, chronic lung or kidney conditions)

Labor & Delivery

  • Vaginal deliveries

  • Low forceps deliveries

  • Decision-making for C-sections

  • Cesarean deliveries (routine and complicated)

  • Breech, multiple births, abruptions

  • VBACs

  • Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations

Gynecology - Office & Surgical

  • Office/Minor GYN Procedures: IUD, colposcopy, cystoscopy, cryosurgery, LEEP

  • Surgical GYN: Open procedures required

Licensure & Certifications

  • Board Certified in OB/GYN - Required

  • Active Michigan Medical License - Required

  • BLS & ACLS - Required
