About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16-18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years with 1 year of traveler experience required. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS required. Must-Have: Experience with IV starts. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and must be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could potentially result in a cancellation. Minimum of 2 years of experience is required. Contract will not accept first-time travelers as this is a complex floor. Unit has a target ratio of 1:6. The unit strives to maintain this ratio but may require understanding that it can reach 1:7 due to call outs or staffing needs. Candidates must be willing to float to other medical-surgical units as required. Every other weekend is required. The patient population includes a mixture of individuals with GI conditions, blood loss, anemia, infections, renal issues, and those recovering from GI surgeries. The unit utilizes PYXIS, Epic, and SBAR systems. The unit is fast-paced and generally sees a turnover of a third of its beds daily. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting. Experience in telemetry is preferred. Candidates must be comfortable with a high-paced environment.
