Overview

BandD Foods is looking to hire a full-time Quality Assurance Supervisor who will report to the QA Manager. The role involves setting standards and monitoring the quality of production, with a thorough understanding of GMP's, HACCP, SQF and USDA requirements and the ability to teach and enforce them in daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Quality Assurance Leads and Quality Assurance Technicians, including coaching, motivating, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Plan and schedule staffing in all areas, cover vacations, etc.
  • Direct subordinates in assuring the quality of finished product and adherence to prescribed processes and procedures.
  • Ensure product specifications, process sheets, SOPs, SSOPs, HACCP plan, and USDA label approvals are followed.
  • Assure pest control and GMP audits are conducted in accordance with company standards.
  • Monitor SSOP results to ensure cleaning and sanitation are executed in accordance with established guidelines and are acceptable to USDA.
  • Serve as a department resource on SQF, USDA, GMP, SSOP and HACCP requirements and ensure they are implemented and maintained.
  • Serve as backup for the HACCP program.
  • Collaborate with Corporate QA (Director of R&D, Regulatory Specialist) when updating SOPs, SSOPs, HACCP, USDA and GMP policies and procedures.
  • Ensure subordinates and associates in QA are trained in appropriate standards for quality and GMP adherence.
  • Provide backup in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Execute other duties as assigned.
Required Certifications
  • HACCP Certified or able to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • SQF Practitioner certification within 6 months of employment
Qualifications / Desired Background
  • Thorough knowledge of food processing GMPs and sanitation.
  • Minimum 2 years of food processing/manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in food technology or B.S. preferred; a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of an undergraduate degree.
