This position is a key member of the Maintenance Department, which is responsible for insuring that the grounds are well maintained and safe for use by programs, clients, staff and visitors. Maintains campus grounds, roads and facilities. Trims, prunes and cuts shrubs, trees and lawns. Snow removal, plowing, salting, sanding and shoveling. Operates snow plows, blowers, sanders, front-end loaders, trucks, backhoes and other vehicles. Uses power equipment and hand tools. Diagnoses problems and perform repairs to equipment, tools and vehicles. Performs routine preventative maintenance to all tools, vehicles and equipment. Installs, repairs and replaces furnishings, fixtures, electrical and mechanical equipment. Performs minor carpentry work. . Moves equipment, furnishings and fixtures as required. Performs other duties as requested. High school grad/GED Valid Massachusetts hoisting license(s) designated by Commission (currently classification 2C) must be possessed at time of hire - or obtained within 6 months of hire - and thereafter maintained as a condition of employment. At least two years experience in related field. Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with other employees, program staffs and clients. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
