We are seeking an experienced
Automation Technician
to join a leading manufacturing team in Devens, MA. In this role, you will work closely with the Automation Supervisor and other technicians to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve automation systems used in production. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with advanced equipment and play a key role in supporting both current operations and upcoming projects. Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot automation equipment, including EOATs (end-of-arm tools), downstream work cells, assembly stations, vision systems, pad printers, laser etchers, and related systems. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce scrap, improve yield, and increase efficiency. Perform and lead major equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and assigned maintenance tasks. Adjust and troubleshoot robotic programs, PLC systems, pneumatics, and electronics. Collaborate with engineering and NPD teams to support new product development and successful product launches. Ensure compliance with SOPs, SWIs, and documentation requirements for traceability and quality control. Maintain cleanroom and safety standards, following escalation procedures when necessary. Provide training to fellow employees on equipment operation and safety protocols. Document shift pass-downs and maintain accurate records. Support continuous improvement initiatives in automation systems and processes. Qualifications
5–8 years of relevant industry experience required. Strong background in PLC programming, robotics, pneumatics, vision systems, and electronics. Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex automation systems. Ability to read and interpret
electrical/pneumatic
schematics and technical work instructions. Experience using precision measurement tools. Highly dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Team player with a proactive, self-motivated approach. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to typical machine shop conditions, with potential need for PPE or respiratory protection. Frequent use of computers and precision tools. What We Offer
