Job Description
A
Purchasing Coordinator
is involved with procuring goods and services for organization by performing the following duties.
Reviews requisitions.
Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Approves invoices for payment.
Expedites delivery of goods to users.
Composes and prepares correspondence, reports, and other documents.
Organizes and maintains file system and files correspondence and other records.
Orders and maintains supplies and arranges for equipment maintenance.
Research various buying opportunities to find best product and pricing.
Assist other departments with purchasing opportunities.
Work with the brand operations representative to secure custom package details.
Qualifications: Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer and NetSuite.
