Program Quality Manager for ASME NQA-1 Nuclear Program
to join our team! Come join us! Responsibilities
Promote the Atlas Core Values (Life, Heart, Mastery, Trust)
Independently report to the Atlas Corporate QA Director on NQA-1 quality program
Plan, perform and implement the Atlas NQA-1 Quality program on geotechnical investigations and construction inspection & testing including Non Destructive Testing (NDT).
Develop project quality plans based on the client scope of work
Serve as Interim Project QA Manager until Project QA Manager is assigned
Manage a library of nuclear quality plans, inspection & test plans, procedures and forms that comply with nuclear codes and standards such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B (NRC); 10 CFR 830.120 (DOE); ASTM standards for construction material testing and inspection.
Lead periodic management reviews, NQA-1 audit program and project QA surveillances.
Manage NQA-1 approved supplier program including Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) program for services and software
Coordinate quality support activities and results with Project Manager, Project Quality Manager & Technical Managers
Perform project QA support role for controlling and documenting nonconforming work, including independent QA verification of effectiveness on Corrective/Preventive Action (CPAR) documents
Assist in Atlas-Behavior Based Safety by being a Safety Resource.
Ensure a Safe Work Environment.
Minimum requirements
Must be US Citizen, per client requirements.
Read/Write English.
Valid driving license, clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test is required.
Must have a professional work ethic, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
Communicate both orally and in writing, and work in a cooperative and courteous manner with the public, contractors, supervisors, and other department staff.
Must obtain OSHA 10-hour certification during onboarding.
Be proficient in Excel, Word, PDF editing software and Outlook.
Technical requirements
Must have a thorough knowledge of ASME NQA-1 (NQA-1-2008 with 2009 Addenda and newer). Experience with Compliance with 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, and related NRC Regulatory Guides. Familiarity with DOE Order 414.1 and 10 CFR 830 if applicable to DOE-regulated facilities.
Other miscellaneous qualities
Practical skills in collaboration software e.g. Microsoft Teams & SharePoint.
Ability to travel (up to 25% of the time).
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
Skilled in promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Strong commitment to ethical standards and regulatory compliance.
Analytical mindset to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Ability to assess risks and make informed decisions under pressure.
Comfortable working in dynamic environments with changing regulations and project scopes.
Capable of adjusting QA strategies to meet evolving technical and organizational needs.
Excellent interpersonal skills for working with engineers, regulators, suppliers, and leadership.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
High attention to detail including meticulous in reviewing documentation, procedures, and audit findings.
Skilled in managing multiple QA activities across projects and departments.
Keeps up-to-date with changes in NQA-1 standards, NRC regulations, and industry best practices.
