General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Open/close the Store, supervise Associates, and maintain a friendly, easy to shop environment. Ensure proper merchandise presentation and a clean work area. Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed. Essential FunctionsMaintaining Safe & Secure Environments
Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do. Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone. Corrects or reports unsafe conditions. Security of building including entrance/exit control, EAS devices daily function check, Cash Office security, armored carrier pick-ups and register area. Removes clutter and ensures safe egress to emergency exits. Responsible for customer safety including accident prevention and emergency procedures. Tests all fire alarm systems as scheduled and responds to after-hours alarms when requested. Customer Service
Treats all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect. Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. Personal and Store Brand
Represents and supports the Company brand at all times. Maintains a professional appearance and ensures all Associates adhere to the Company Dress Code. Keeps all areas of the Store clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard. Responsible for daily trash removal. General Merchandising
Ensures recovery, sizing and markdowns are completed to Company standards; receiving merchandise as needed; processes merchandise with urgency; maintains stockrooms; supports back-stock processing; ensures signing and promotional materials are accurate. Loss Prevention
Maintains loss prevention awareness with high customer-facing presence. Safeguards confidential information and ensures PVM system is maintained. Conducts security procedures and maximizes productivity with efficient workflows. Front End Supervision and Operations
Executes Best Practices, maintains pace and presence at the Front End, trains Associates on cash handling and procedures, manages break schedules, ensures equipment is working, and ensures proper front-end recovery. Fitting Rooms
Maintains cleanliness of Fitting Rooms and audits garment tags per policy; ensures go-backs are properly processed and secured. Administrative Duties As Assigned By Store Manager
Performs cash handling controls, payroll administration, scheduling compliance, and other duties as assigned by Store Manager. Competencies
Manages Work Processes Business Acumen Plans, Aligns & Prioritizes Builds Talent Collaborates Leading by Example Communicates Effectively Ensures Accountability & Execution Qualifications And Special Skills Required
Excellent verbal communication skills. Fluency in English. Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements Ability to use all Store equipment, spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to lift more than 25 lbs. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies. Other Qualifications Associates who work Stockroom shifts should be able to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 lbs. Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
