The LTC business unit leverages resources across Operations, Claim, Anti-Fraud, Finance, Actuarial and Data Analytics to move quickly and drive impact. CNA’s LTC business has approximately $14B in reserves serving 300K policyholders and is a strategic priority for CNA. This is an exciting opportunity to drive strategy and execution in a highly collaborative environment with internal and external partners to support risk management for CNA’s Long Term Care business. The successful candidate will be technically strong, detail-oriented and have strong communication abilities. Candidates with a financial, accounting or data analytics background could transition well into this role. Applicants at both the analyst and consultant levels will be considered; position level will be determined based on qualifications. The position may also be adjusted to an actuarial role for candidates with appropriate experience. Please ask about the Actuarial Education Program. This position enjoys a flexible hybrid work schedule at our CNA Chicago office. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Contribute to the development and execution of pricing and industry-leading risk reduction strategies. Compile, create and/or perform technical reviews of actuarial memorandums for rate filing purposes, including preparation of actuarial exhibits and data summaries. Efficiently prepare error-free state filing forms, exhibits, memos and supporting materials for regulatory filings. With little direction, research and analyze regulator questions using internal and external resources. Make recommendations to business partners to influence filing outcomes. Analyze and review financial data to help inform future business strategy. Drive process improvements to gain efficiencies, while creating repeatable and auditable processes. Ensure tools and processes produce efficient, consistent, and accurate information. Identify shortcomings with existing tools and processes and propose solutions. May perform additional duties as assigned. Reporting Relationship Director or above Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Knowledge of the insurance industry as well as understanding of CNA’s products, services, goals and objectives. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively resolve complex situations and issues. Solid project management, organization, and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and bring items to closure. Ability to exercise independent judgment and make critical business decisions effectively within scope of authority based on data analyses and reviews. Ability to comprehend business data and metrics and to further articulate analyses of actuarial financial data within internal reports. Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. Not required, but a plus: knowledge of programming and/or data visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, SAS/SQL/R. Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, such as accounting, actuarial science, finance, analytics or other equivalent. Typically, three to five years of related work experience.
