Responsibilities

Develop long-term relationships within key customer/ client targets. Work closely with VP Client Services / VP Operations and respective teams to ensure customer expectations are met and overall business plans and strategies are achieved.

Quantify each potential new business opportunity in respect to revenue and profitability in conjunction with Operations and Finance.

Coordinate objectives of the overall business development plan with all functional departments of the company as necessary.

Lead the development and implementation of an overall business development marketing strategy including competitive analysis and obtaining approval from the senior management team.

Prepare monthly and quarterly updates to the plan and communicate updates to VP Client Services and management team.

Driving and travel are essential duties and functions of this job.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Marketing preferred, or equivalent experience.

8-10 years of experience in sales development or sales management.

Experience in client communications and negotiations; entrepreneurial experience.

Proven track record of reaching sales goals.

Strong leadership ability with customers and associates.

Position Details & Responsibilities The Company is a leading sales and marketing agency providing outsourced services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. Responsibilities include directing and managing sales and business development operations, including presentation and RFP development, pricing, market competitiveness, ROI value creation tools, and growth strategies. May manage a team responsible for new business support, communications, and executive projects.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Work with appropriate customer teams to develop leads and appointments with customers; generate own leads within key target customers.

Develop long-term relationships with key customer targets; deliver sales and capabilities presentations, prepare responses to RFPs, and understand competitive landscape.

Collaborate with VP Client Services / VP Operations to meet customer expectations and achieve business plans.

Build and manage cross-functional teams (IT, Finance, etc.) to secure business wins.

Quantify potential new business opportunities in revenue and profitability with Operations and Finance.

Planning

Coordinate objectives of the business development plan with functional departments.

Lead development and implementation of marketing strategy with competitive analysis and senior management approval.

Lead and develop client/customer pitches, CRM and pipeline management, communications (executive blog, Inside Advantage, Difference Makers, etc.), and board meeting prep.

Prepare monthly and quarterly plan updates and communicate to management.

Travel

Travel up to 60% is expected; travel and driving are essential duties and functions of this job.

Supervisory Responsibilities This position may have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports and may include mentoring and guidance to indirect reports.

Education & Experience

Education Level: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Field: Business management or marketing.

8-10 years of experience in sales development or sales management.

Experience in client communications and negotiations; entrepreneurial experience.

Skills & Competencies

Proven ability to reach sales goals; strong leadership; consultative selling and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and develop innovative business solutions; proactive with industry leadership.

Strategic thinking, accountability, decision quality, and communication skills.

Environmental & Physical Requirements Office environment; ability to sit for extended periods; ability to hear phone, enter data, and lift up to 10 lbs.
