Mississippi Ambulance Alliance
The Mississippi Ambulance Alliance (MAA) Board of Directors seeks a driven and highly skilled leader to serve as the organization’s chief executive. The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the vision, mission, and strategic direction adopted by the Board of Directors, with a specific focus on driving policy development, legislative engagement, and advocacy efforts at the state level.

Develop, articulate, and execute the organization's strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors. Lead the development and implementation of a proactive policy and legislative agenda aligned with the organization's mission and goals. Build and maintain relationships with key legislative and regulatory stakeholders at the state level. Attend and coordinate Board and member participation in legislative hearings, policy forums, and coalition meetings. Draft policy briefs, position statements, and testimony on issues critical to Emergency Medical Services. Monitor, analyze, and communicate the impact of legislation, regulations, and public policy trends affecting members and the communities they serve. Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in federal and state EMS policy, reimbursement, patient care, licensure, and regulation. Support advocacy efforts driven by the Board and lobbyists. Mobilize members and partners in grassroots advocacy and policy campaigns. Maintain transparency and accountability through regular reporting to the Board. Represent MAA members at local, state, regional, and national meetings and conventions as directed by the Board. Manage the annual membership renewal process, including but not limited to organizing and promoting the annual membership meeting. Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure compliance with MAA bylaws and adopted governance structure. Communicate routinely and effectively with members and Board leaders. Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals as appropriate. Grow and manage social media channels. Develop agendas and take minutes for all Board, membership, and committee meetings. Draft official correspondence of the organization and execute legal documents. Plan and execute MAA events at the direction of the Board. Qualifications & Experience
Proven leadership experience (3+ years) in nonprofit management, public policy, advocacy, or a related health field. Deep understanding advocacy campaigns and engaging with policymakers. Strong knowledge of legislative processes, regulatory frameworks, and the political landscape. Exceptional communication skills-written, verbal, and public speaking. Ability to build consensus, influence stakeholders, and represent diverse constituencies. Experience in association management, event planning, and/or nonprofit management are a significant plus. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Must be a Mississippi resident or willing to relocate to Mississippi. Must be able to travel periodically throughout the State of Mississippi. Must be able to travel routinely to the Jackson, Mississippi area. Must have the ability to maintain a home office. Reports To The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Location Hybrid/Remote (home office with the travel referred to above; travel requirements will be more frequent during legislative sessions)
