Defend workers’ compensation claims against employers in various industries. Manage a caseload and deadlines; conduct depositions of parties, lay witnesses, medical providers, and experts. Represent clients in mediations, draft briefs and motions, and prepare for and conduct hearings before an administrative commission. Perform legal analysis on new and existing claims; investigate cases; review and analyze medical records; develop case strategy. Respond to discovery, draft motions, take depositions, attend hearings and mediations, and negotiate settlements. Communicate with a team of HGKG attorneys and clients (including insurance adjusters and risk managers); create and submit client reports and briefs to support the client’s position; negotiate settlements on behalf of the client. Qualifications
1+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation Defense Litigation required Currently licensed in the state of South Carolina Strong writing skills with deposition and mediation experience preferred Excellent interpersonal, research, writing, and verbal communication skills; able to work independently Organized and self-motivated; preferred to be proactive and detail-oriented Work Environment
