Overview Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) – Climate Risk Modeling Senior Manager at EY. Location: Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Washington. EY’s CCaSS team helps businesses and governments respond to societal, environmental, and economic challenges by evaluating value impacts of organizations, operations, programs, and projects. Our multidisciplinary team includes strategists, accountants, engineers, and data analysts who solve ESG and climate change problems, helping clients manage emerging risks and reduce costs through systems and processes that leverage opportunities in climate change, green and sustainable finance, health and safety, labor rights, nonfinancial reporting, supply chain, and environmental management. This role is part of a growing CCaSS practice. As a Senior Manager, you’ll contribute to growth, communicate strategic goals, and tailor exceptional client experiences in a field with no off-the-shelf solutions.

Operate across projects with varied scopes, challenging existing practices to address complex issues.

Collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines to build relationships and identify opportunities for integrated services.

Travel regularly to meet with key clients.

Skills and attributes for success

Provide clients with strategic, technical, and reporting expertise on climate challenges (decarbonization, risk, emissions measurement, reporting).

Collaborate with partners, senior managers, and clients to influence strategy, balance risk, and manage expectations.

Ensure the engagement team understands client needs and ambitions, and deliver integrated service across service lines.

Manage performance and identify opportunities to improve products and processes.

Project management excellence: coordinate multiple workstreams to produce high-quality deliverables and strong client relationships.

Consulting mindset: solve complex problems through research, data analysis, and clear communication to senior leaders.

Assist with generating new business opportunities and industry networks focused on climate change and decarbonization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Climate Science, Physics, Environmental Economics, or related field; 8+ years of relevant experience.

Sustainability experience in climate megatrends, net-zero decarbonization, GHG inventories, data management, TCFD disclosures, renewable energy, scope 3 decarbonization, and carbon offsets/markets.

Experience with climate risk modeling, scenario analysis, and climate adaptation and mitigation.

Strong technical writing and risk management knowledge; understanding of marketplace terminology, processes, and tools.

Proven ability to manage and mentor high-performing teams and resolve emerging client issues, including regulatory and technology aspects.

External consulting experience in a large professional firm; proficient in Excel and modeling; ability to develop BI dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI.

Programming experience (SQL, Python, and/or TAS); willingness to travel and work flexible hours; reliable transportation with a driver’s license recommended.

Preferred qualifications

PhD in Climate Science, Physics, Environmental Economics, or related field.

Licensure or advanced certifications relevant to your profession.

Experience with net-zero and science-based target decarbonization strategies.

Cross-sector expertise (emissions management, decarbonization, or climate risk).

Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred).
