Overview Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Compliance Manager in its Office of Business Integrity & Ethics (OBIE) within the Assurance team. OBIE is responsible for developing, overseeing, and continuously improving Vertex's Global Compliance Program, including standards via policies and procedures, training and communications, auditing and monitoring, internal reporting, investigations, and reporting to the CEO, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors. OBIE serves as the go-to expert for Vertex employees and external stakeholders on issues related to the Global Compliance Program and Code of Conduct globally. Job Description Reporting to the Head of Global Compliance Program Strategy, Assurance & Management, the Manager will support the company\'s global ABAC and assurance program and activities, including auditing and monitoring, third party risk management, and fair market value analysis. The Manager will serve as the initial point of contact for business colleagues for these programs and activities and will support department initiatives globally. The Manager must have knowledge of the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry, anti-bribery/anti-corruption laws, and experience with assurance, auditing, and monitoring. Support the assurance program\'s annual auditing and monitoring plans and related reporting. Serve as the operational contact for assurance and other compliance processes and activities, including third party risk management and fair market value, and supervise dedicated email accounts. Collaborate with OBIE colleagues and cross-functional teams to drive assurance program activities. Develop a high level of knowledge of current and emerging assurance risk for the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. Support continuous improvement of the Global Compliance Program.

Self-starter with demonstrated ability to meet goals; able to exercise sound judgment in escalating matters appropriately. Demonstrated ability to identify areas for improvement in controls, systems, and processes. Ability to work with large amounts of data to analyze information while still seeing the "big picture". Confidence and professionalism to handle difficult conversations and discretion on sensitive matters.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor\'s degree required Experience in auditing, monitoring, and assurance, with a focus on the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. ABAC and auditing and monitoring experience, with preference for experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of anti-bribery/anti-corruption laws and pharmaceutical regulations and guidance. Operations and project management experience. Demonstrated strong commitment to compliance, ethics, and accountability. Ability to travel approximately 15-20% of time. Proficiency in MS Office (especially XLSX and PPT). Advanced English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CFE Previous in-house Compliance experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. Flexibility to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

$120,000 - $180,000

Disclosures The range provided is based on a reasonable estimate for base salary at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and equity awards. Actual base salary will be based on skills, experience, and other factors permitted by law. Vertex offers comprehensive benefits and a flexible work environment.
