is responsible for developing and executing strategies to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of Midstream automation systems across the enterprise. This includes overseeing base process control and safety systems reliability, HMI platform performance, control room integration, and management for capital project portfolios. The role also leads risk-based standardization initiatives and supports regulatory compliance, while providing hands-on leadership to internal teams and coordination with vendors and field resources. Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle support of automation systems for pipeline, gas processing, and terminal operations, including DCSs, PLCs, RTUs, ESDs, BMSs and HMIs Define strategic priorities for technology deployment and management of automation systems Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence across all automation initiatives Supervise and develop a team responsible for automation project execution, system support, system troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems and safety systems Support major capital projects by contributing to automation scope, system design, vendor selection, and construction oversight Manage automation capital projects including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor supervision Develop and steward long-term automation technology roadmaps, including modernization and standardization plans Drive improvements in automation equipment reliability using root cause analysis, risk-based prioritization, and industry best practices Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, IT, and Operations to align automation systems with broader business and compliance goals Provide technical leadership during Design Hazard Reviews (DHRs) and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) Evaluate and support the implementation of leak detection systems, data analytics tools, and emerging digital technologies where appropriate Maintain strong relationships with automation vendors and ensure adherence to cybersecurity and regulatory requirements Create strategic plans for process optimization and lifecycle management of automation equipment Develop and maintain internal requirements and best practice documents Develop and deliver technical material for leadership presentations Required Qualifications

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country Valid driver’s license Bachelor’s degree 10 or more years of experience in automation for operating companies 5 or more years of automation project management experience Advanced experience with Foxboro, Delta V, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Triconex or Honeywell systems; and supervisory applications such as Wonderware, ClearSCADA, or Ignition Advanced experience working with field devices and on-site commissioning activities Intermediate experience with industrial automation systems architecture, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC) Intermediate experience working with BMS standards such as NFPA 85, NFPA 86, NFPA 87, ISA 18.2 and ISA 84 Willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time TWIC eligibility Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering 10 or more years of automation experience in oil & gas Hands on experience with configuration of DCS systems Hands on experience with configuration of PLC systems FSP (Functional Safety Professional) or FSE (Functional Safety Expert) certification from Exida or TUV Strong knowledge of electrical systems (120VAC and 24VDC) and process instruments 3 or more years of supervisory or team leadership experience Familiarity with pipeline, terminal and gas processing operations CAP (Certified Automation Professional), PMP, or equivalent certifications Experience integrating automation during expansion, acquisitions, or divestitures Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity practices and digital transformation in midstream operations Midstream The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities.
