Post-secondary education in a technical field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience required. Strong background and experience in Automotive Manufacturing and Quality Assurance. Strong technical background and experience in metrology, GD&T, SPC, Check Fixtures, Measurement Systems Analysis and CAD. Good reporting and computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, CAD, spreadsheets, word processing software, etc.). Must possess good mathematical skills, experience in geometry and trigonometry. Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function. Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment to meet customer requirements and with variable workloads. Must be able to interact effectively with other team members. Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact. Understands and exhibits good 5S and housekeeping practices. Strong liaison, Supplier Quality and communication skills with both customer and supply base. Keeps all records in logical and easy to retrieve record-keeping process. Strong organization skills with ability to schedule their own work to meet needs of their customers. Able to lift up to 40lbs without assistance. Able to maintain punctuality and good attendance records. Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Duties

Supply daily direction and follow-up on assigned tasks. Understand and maintain workload for quality floor personnel through continuous monitoring and time studies. Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new quality techs. Hold daily pre-shift meetings on assigned shift with employees. Visit other pre-shift meetings in the department to provide feedback and support. Communicate with Quality Manager, Welding Manager, Weld Engineer, Quality Engineers, Process Engineers, and other plant personnel about welding and dimensional concerns, providing status reports as appropriate. Provide weld inspection and dimensional expertise to the Quality Technicians, including personnel training, equipment, documents, and records of compliance. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding current and new weld inspection methods, dimensional checks, product quality and equipment. Facilitates and manages quality spills within CBAM, including containment through certified products going out from CBAM. Oversee and conduct materials and component testing at all stages of manufacturing. Prepare, conduct and report on the applicable testing conducted. Contributes to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities, both in general and specifically related to individual duties. Verify that inspected work and records conform to quality requirements, other applicable standards, codes and customer requirements. Monitors and completes required Layered Process Audits (LPAs). Follows the escalation process. Understands CBAM’s employee handbook to advise and guide associates. Completes payroll activities for employees. Ensures fairness to direct reports and encourages and participates in open-door resolution of employee relations issues. Observes, understands, teaches, coaches and mentors direct reports for enhancement of knowledge, skills and succession planning. Ensures employees are trained or certified, as required and participates in training programs as required. Proactively support/initiates corrective measures to process control issues. Assist the Quality Manager with developing, implementing and maintaining:

Training/certification program for Quality Personnel in all welding and dimension control checks. Control Plans. Documents and procedures.

Responsible for ensuring all product validation checks are performed to control plans. Attend and participate in department meetings, plant meetings, and training; participate in customer visitations as designated by the Quality Manager. Provide reports as required by the Quality Manager or other departments. Supports the Supplier Quality Engineer with verification of incoming material. Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies. Follows and supports CBAM’s and Magna’s operating principles, including:

Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey. Conducts performance evaluations on employees that are tied to plant and company goals and provides regular feedback on work performance, utilizing individual corrective action plans if necessary and discusses such action with appropriate personnel. Complies with relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental programs (e.g. ISO 9001/IATF 16949, ISO 45001 ISO 14001). Ensures all documentation is maintained, including employee documentation.
