Position Summary As a result of continued growth in their Not-for-Profit practice, they are seeking a Not for Profit (NFP) Tax Manager to join their team in either the Boston or Providence office on a hybrid basis. This individual will serve as a key member of their exempt organizations tax practice, delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to mission-driven clients.

Serve as a trusted advisor to not-for-profit clients, demonstrating strong industry knowledge and anticipating client needs. Proactively communicate tax planning strategies, compliance obligations, and solutions to clients. Respond promptly and professionally to client questions and concerns, including inquiries related to notices from federal and state tax authorities. Prepare and review federal and state information returns (Forms 990, 990-PF, 990-T). Ensure clients remain in compliance with applicable tax laws while minimizing reporting burdens. Research and resolve tax technical issues, including complex unrelated business income and excise tax matters. Lead the response process to IRS and state agency correspondence, including notices, audits, and examinations. Collaborate with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve issues efficiently and favorably. Supervise, train, and mentor associates and supervisors in tax compliance, research, and client service. Review team members' work for technical accuracy and adherence to firm quality control standards. Provide ongoing feedback and participate in performance management and professional development efforts. Collaborate closely with partners to manage client planning and compliance needs. Serve as a resource for internal team members on not-for-profit technical issues, best practices, and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications

BS Degree in Accounting or related field required Master's degree in Taxation or related discipline preferred CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is required Minimum of 6 years of federal tax experience with exempt organizations; public accounting experience preferred Demonstrated expertise in preparing and reviewing Forms 990, 990-PF, and 990-T Strong understanding of tax law applicable to 501(c) organizations Strong communication and leadership skills; crucial for addressing complex issues Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels of an organization, internally and externally Experience in resolving IRS and state notices and inquiries Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven leadership, supervisory, and project management capabilities Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Benefits On offer are a wide range of benefits including health and dental insurance, unlimited discretionary paid time-off and a competitive retirement savings plan, bonuses.
