Overview Director, Finance - Business Development Financial Evaluations

The role reports to the Head of Forecasting/Business Analytics and Deal Valuations and may lead a small team.

This position will lead the valuation processes for in-licensing, out-licensing, co-development and/or acquiring opportunities, and own the financial evaluation model developed in collaboration with Global Business Development, Finance, Global Commercial & Strategy, Global Forecasting & Insights, and Global Project Management. Responsibilities
Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams (global/regional RD, IP, Legal, Finance, Forecasting, Manufacturing/Supply Chain, Commercial) to evaluate and execute deal opportunities, including managing the interface with global/regional teams and ensuring alignment with project assumptions. Collaborate with the wider GBD team to formulate partnering strategy and objectives by providing insights and recommendations with significant potential impact. Provide independent and high-quality financial support to all BDL transactions including in-licensing, out-licensing, collaborations, and other strategic business initiatives. Develop valuation models, sourcing and validating key assumptions and data from global cross-functional teams (Marketing, R&D, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.). Lead analysis of financial metrics underpinning deal terms; prepare financial aspects of business cases including valuation, P&Ls, cash flow analyses, sensitivity analyses, and other relevant slides for governance committees. Orchestrate detailed comparator deal analyses and run valuation scenarios to align proposed terms for new collaborations. Provide post-deal support, including asset impairment test analysis and explaining deal structure, rationale, and data supporting the valuation model. Qualifications Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university) Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting (required; concentration preferred) MBA from a top-tier business school (highly preferred) Experience Qualifications 10+ years in Pharmaceuticals/Biotech/Life Sciences/Investment Banking 2–4+ years in BD&L transactions financial modeling (preferred) Ability to travel up to 20% for business meetings and/or conferences as required Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
