Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time
The
Linux System Administrator Functional Lead
supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will: • Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center • Administer container platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman as-well-as maintain multiple repositories/registries • Oversee and perform the hardening of operating systems and STIG compliance • Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure system administration and compliance practices are maintained • Manage/delegate tasking derived from project, sustainment, and break/fix sources • Manage/mentor a team responsible for ensuring system software installations, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and service level agreements. • Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation. • Focus on creating, upgrading, managing, and sustaining physical and virtual workstations.

Job Requirements
Basic Requirements: • Must have 5, or more, years of directly related experience to UNIX and/or Linux systems administration • Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a computing environment Linux certification • Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+) • Must have an active DoD Secret, or higher, Security Clearance
Desired Requirements: • Must have a Bachelor's, or higher, in an IT or any STEM related field • Have experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment
This position is expected to pay
$130,000 - $170,000
annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
