Overview
Epsilon is seeking a Database Developer to join our strong and steady Development team. As an entry-level Database Developer on the back end, you will collaborate with experienced developers and database administrators (DBAs) to support the full database lifecycle. You will learn to write and optimize SQL queries, design database schemas, and contribute to documentation and data management tasks. This is an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects and grow your skills in a supportive, mentorship-focused environment.

The Database Developer will report to the Senior Manager, Database Development. You will work closely alongside our internal teams of Quality Assurance, Business System Analysts, and Project Managers.

As part of the technical delivery team, you will work alongside the internal project delivery team to design solutions and implement programs according to the requirements and timelines specified in the statement of work.

Responsibilities
What you’ll bring with you:
Experience working as part of a Tech team, understanding business requirements, functional, and technical specifications while analyzing and defining data flow requirements and preparing applicable system documentation and operation manuals.
Experience developing using core solution standards and implements initial data loads for database marketing projects. Performing transformation and loading of data according to the business specifications.
Experience defining, preparing, executing and implementing data validation and unit testing methods to ensure data quality.
Experience with maintenance of applications using Oracle and Linux software. Experience with Oracle packages, procedures, functions, analytics functions, exchange partitions, bulk load functionalities will be a major plus.

Database Development:
Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application development and reporting needs.
Data Integrity and Security:
Assist in ensuring the accuracy and security of data through routine checks and adherence to best practices.
Performance Monitoring and Tuning:
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot minor issues, and assist in implementing tuning strategies under supervision.
Maintenance and Documentation:
Help create and maintain documentation for database structures, processes, and procedures. Assist with regular data maintenance tasks.
Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams, including software developers and IT support, to understand database needs and resolve issues.
Testing:
Participate in unit and system testing of web applications to ensure proper database functionality

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
Database Skills:
Foundational understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, and normalization.
Programming Languages:
Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) is essential. Basic programming skills in a language like Python are beneficial.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical information clearly.
Experience:
Relevant internship or academic project experience is highly desirable.
Motivation:

Compensation Range: $54,910 - $75,915 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met.
