Tri-City Electric is seeking a Junior Electrical Estimator to support the estimating team in preparing cost estimates and bid proposals for electrical construction projects. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in building a career in construction estimating under the guidance of senior staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in preparing material, labor, and equipment cost estimates for electrical projects. Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior estimators. Collect and organize quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. Maintain cost databases and update historical pricing information. Prepare quantity take-offs and basic cost breakdowns. Support bid preparation and submission to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Attend training sessions and participate in site visits to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior estimators on assigned projects. Learn and apply estimating software tools and company processes. Qualifications:
Entry Level: No experience up to 2years of experience in estimating, electrical contracting, or related construction field. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required; exposure to estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Trimble, or similar) is a plus but not required. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications (preferred, training can be provided).
Candidates must possess eagerness to learn, attention to detail, tact and consideration, solid communication skills, sound judgment, the ability to solve problems and meet deadlines, self-motivation, business acumen, and be organized. Candidates should have the ability to collaborate with team members and demonstrate dedication to growth in Estimating.
