Are you an expert forklift operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We need a skilled

Material Handler

to join our team and become the driving force behind our operations. You'll be responsible for the seamless movement of materials throughout the plant, from receiving to shipping, using your forklift to deliver products to our bindery and pressroom baler. Beyond transportation, you'll also manage our recycling program for cardboard and plastic and conduct crucial product counts to ensure we meet our production goals. This is a 2nd shift role from 3 PM to 11 PM with a payrate of $20.25 WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE A-TEAM: Supplies machines with proper material as specified by the Stitcher Operator. Make sure all forms have a backup load ready to run (flipped, unbanded). Communicate with the Stitcher Operator on job progress (quantity to run, VIPS, Stores, version change.) Supply machines with proper pallets, binders, wire, shrink film, empty waste bin and remove all packaging (shrink wrap, strapping). Make sure cardboard, plastic, garbage and unnecessary pallets are taken away from the machine. When a load is to be run, cut the plastic off and give the Stitcher Operator a form and the load tag. The Material Handler is responsible for the stacking of material onto a new pallet of signatures or forms may be done if the trucker considers the load safe and not above the pocket feeders shoulders. Sorting pallets and remove from area to proper location as per attached instructions (four-ways, good, Junk.) Verify load flag and placard that match with completed load and placement is correct. Take completed loads from machines to wrappers and complete the necessary functions to wrap loads. Transport completed loads to either the Shipping Department or the bindery wrapper depending on which area you are supporting. Make sure your assigned work area is swept up at the end of your shift and at any time production is completed. Make sure to clean your truck off at the end of your shift. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 2 Years prior experience in a warehouse using a forklift required. 1 year of Clamp Truck driving experience (preferred). Current and active Driver’s License required. Ability to operate a lift and hand truck required, as well as obtain forklift license within thirty days. Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Requires the ability to communicate fluently in English to provide effective and clear written and oral communication. Ability to follow oral and written instructions without error. Must be willing to work weekends and overtime if/when necessary. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent sitting Frequent use of hands to type, finger, handle, grasp or touch objects and tools Frequently is required to talk or listen Occasional standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, reaching Must be able to lift and carry boxes and material up to 72 lbs. to various departments throughout the plant and offices. Must be able to lift and change propane tanks. A full tank weighs approximately 70 lbs. and must be raised 5 feet from the floor to the proper position on the truck.
