We're a fast-growing healthcare tech company building modern, scalable integrations using Python, FastAPI, and Temporal on AWS. We're looking for an
AWS Infrastructure Engineer
who can take ownership of our cloud architecture while also contributing to our backend codebase. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about infrastructure but also enjoys writing clean, production-ready Python. This position is hybrid and will require 3 days a week in our New Bedford, MA office. Responsibilities Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.). Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). Collaborate with the backend team to build and maintain FastAPI services. Create and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CDK preferred). Help ensure observability, scalability, and security of services. Participate in incident response, logging, and monitoring setups. Assist in HIPAA-compliant and secure deployment workflows. Tech Stack Cloud:
AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, API Gateway) DevOps:
Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform/CDK Languages:
Python 3.10+, Bash Frameworks:
FastAPI, boto3, AWS Lambda Data:
PostgreSQL, Redis Requirements 4+ years of experience managing AWS infrastructure in production. Strong knowledge of services like ECS, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway. Experience with Python and FastAPI, especially in Lambda or microservices context. Comfortable with Docker and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions a plus). Solid understanding of security, IAM, and network architecture in AWS. Ability to collaborate with developers and contribute to backend features when needed. Nice to Have Experience in HIPAA-compliant or highly regulated environments. Familiarity with Temporal or other workflow orchestration tools. Exposure to HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare data formats. Django experience (legacy support). Monitoring/alerting
