Position: Controller - Construction Sub Contractor Company Overview: Our client is a leading construction sub contractor company based in Woburn, MA. They specialize in providing high-quality services to their commercial clients, including commercial, multifamily residential, and Higher-ed, healthcare and industrial projects. Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our clients team. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of their construction sub contracting business. This is a key leadership role that requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee all financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting - Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data - Manage the company's cash flow, including monitoring accounts receivable and payable, and making recommendations for improvements - Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior management and external stakeholders - Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate and timely project cost tracking and reporting - Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives - Manage the company's tax compliance and reporting requirements - Oversee the preparation and submission of all required financial filings and reports - Lead and develop a team of financial professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to support their growth and development - Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments, and make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies in financial processes and systems Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - CPA designation is preferred - Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar financial management role, preferably in the construction industry - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards - Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders - Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team - Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software - Knowledge of construction accounting software, such as Sage 300 and Procore They offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for growth and development within our company.
