We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC, to provide high-quality psychiatric services to our diverse patient population.

Position Overview

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Healthstar, you will:

Patient Care:

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing management of acute and chronic psychiatric issues.

Medication Management:

Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring effective treatment and managing side effects.

Therapeutic Services:

Provide psychotherapy and counseling to individuals and groups, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

Collaboration:

Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.

Education:

Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.

Qualifications

Education:

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health.

Licensure:

Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of North Carolina.

Certification:

Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Experience:

Previous experience in psychiatric nursing preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered.

Skills:

Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Language:

Second language proficiency in French, Swahili, or Creole is a PLUS.

Compensation

Base Salary:

Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
