Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Metrology Specialist with extensive experience in the automotive and metal-mechanical industries. The ideal candidate will be an expert in dimensional metrology, utilizing Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Faro arms, height gages, and advanced non-contact measurement systems. This role is essential for ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain metrology procedures for precise dimensional inspection. Perform measurements and analysis using CMM, Faro arms, and height gages. Conduct First Article Inspections and support APQP/PPAP submissions. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure quality standards are met. Troubleshoot and resolve metrology-related issues efficiently. Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance records for all measurement equipment. Apply non-contact measurement systems (laser scanning, optical imaging, photogrammetry, radar) for rapid, precise data acquisition. Generate and analyze 3D models for dimensional validation using advanced scanning and visualization software. Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in metrology technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 3 years of metrology engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry. Proficiency in CMM programming, Faro arms, and height gages. Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and First Article Inspection processes. Experience with 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and data analysis software is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
