Job Summary Aligned Solutions is seeking a
Senior Accountant – Residential Lending
for a well-respected organization. This role is responsible for accounting and reporting related to residential loan portfolios and residential mortgage-backed securities. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, roll forward reconciliations, variance analysis, and quarter- and year-end financial schedules and footnotes. The position plays an active role in the month-end close and reporting process, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Key Responsibilities Prepare accounting entries and ensure accuracy of accounts and balances
Complete monthly variance analyses and trend explanations for actual vs. planned results
Assist with quarterly and year-end financial schedules, footnotes, and reporting deadlines
Perform monthly bank account reconciliations
Identify and recommend process improvements
Support special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed
Knowledge & Skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
High attention to detail with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; PeopleSoft experience a plus
Skilled in trend analysis and variance explanations
Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
CPA preferred or actively pursuing
2–4 years of public accounting experience preferred
