Depending on Experience + Benefits Provide direct therapeutic and diagnostic patient care, health promotion, disease prevention, and clinic administration. Must be able to travel for CHA training sessions one to two times per year for six weeks each session to increase CHA skill levels toward certification. Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Interested in providing health care to the “people of the village.” Will be a resident of the village or interested in relocating to the village. Must be 18 years of age or older, unless there is evidence of extraordinary maturity, with a caring attitude and other good humane qualities. As much as possible and practicable, must meet the following education requirements: Eighth grade education, basic arithmetic skills including decimals, and a minimum of sixth grade English reading level. Agree to complete all training requirements for certification (CHP) within three years from the date of employment. The applicant must agree to travel to Anchorage or other designated places for training. Training sessions usually last one to four weeks at a time. Ability to communicate in English and in the local Native language prevalent in the village. Ability to prepare and present effective oral and/or written reports in required format. Willingness and means to travel and have a valid Alaska Drivers License. Willing to take training and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge.
