Contract Skills: Primary Job Responsibilities: As a Cloud Network Engineer, you will be part of the Cloud Network Engineering team responsible for building a highly scalable and reliable SDN solution for eBay Cloud Services, one of the biggest OpenStack-based private clouds in the world. This is a hands-on network engineering role within a unique cloud environment. The successful candidate will have a focus on automation and continuous improvement. Principal Responsibilities: Proactively analyze network environments to prevent potential issues. Respond to incidents, troubleshoot, and resolve problems within the SDN environment. Design and implement SDN solutions for cloud infrastructure. Participate in environment changes and updates. Develop automation, processes, and tools to simplify deployment and support. Experience: Working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and routing protocols. Experience with protocol analysis, network analyzers, packet capture devices, or Wireshark. Familiarity with UNIX and Windows servers, VMware, and their networking capabilities. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members. Preferred Requirements: Scripting and/or development expertise. Experience with cloud-scale networks. Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and other core network services. OpenStack/Neutron experience. Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. 2+ years of network engineering experience. Knowledge of network security, firewalls, and load balancers.
