The Manager, Engineering At Okta, we’re building the next generation of authentication for the Agentic AI era. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join the AI Agentic Experience team at Auth0. This role is pivotal in extending and complementing our Auth for Agentic AI offering by building the infrastructure, tooling, and developer experiences that empower both human developers and AI agents to build secure, intelligent applications. Auth0 Emerging Tech is the Engineering organization where we ship fast and don’t break things. We are a dynamic and collaborative distributed and diverse team that values ownership, learning and innovation. You will collaborate across engineering, product, and security teams to drive meaningful improvements in developer tooling, agent authentication, orchestration frameworks, and real-world demos. What you will be doing

Manage the distributed team owning Auth0’s AI Agentic investment. Amazing, talented and driven engineers.

Be hands on with our solutions (sometimes by coding, sometimes by reviewing or participating in architectural decisions).

Be ultimately responsible for the technical implementation of the DX/AX of our Auth for Agentic AI solutions.

Hire great talent when in phases of expansion.

Coach and help people on the team to grow.

Contribute to improving Auth0's product architecture patterns, security controls and best practices.

Participate in the assessment and adaptation of engineering processes and best practices.

Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize work and provide context so team members can perform specific tasks.

Run people management activities such as coaching, 1:1s, and performance reviews.

Influence Engineering Standards by leading design discussions and contributing to team-wide architectural decisions.

Ensure resilience and security of systems involved in agent-to-agent or model-to-service communication.

You might be a good fit if you have

3+ years of engineering management experience.

Experience with AI Agents and leading highly technical teams.

A technical background and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical people.

A passion for good developer experience.

Experience with and a passion for good engineering practices and testing.

Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang and/or Python, and the ability to move fluidly between front-end and back-end contexts.

Experience working with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, orchestration layers, or prompt pipelines.

Demonstrated experience leading architecture and design efforts for scalable, production-grade systems.

Comfort contributing to and maintaining open source projects and engaging with developer communities.

A passion for documentation as part of the developer experience—not just writing code, but making it understandable and usable.

Ability to thrive in highly collaborative environments with cross-functional stakeholders.

Bonus points for

Deep understanding of IAM concepts.

Experience building highly reliable, scalable systems.

Experience creating and maintaining public and secure APIs.

Experience working on Identity and Access Management software and concepts.

Having built AI Agents on your own.

Salary and Benefits The annual base salary range for candidates located in California is between $197,000—$295,000 USD. Actual base salary will depend on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave in accordance with applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between $197,000—$295,000 USD.
