Job Description

We are seeking a

Controls Engineer

for our

Salisbury, North Carolina Plant.

Functions and Responsibilities:

Recommend equipment improvements and/or manufacturing methods that would result in improved quality or greater efficiency. Coordinate all mechanical / electrical system modifications with external vendors, maintenance personnel and Facility Engineering Manager in regard to automation control. Organize and maintain all system documentation (mechanical/electrical prints, software documentation and backups, path problems, robot configurations and parameters and configuration parameters). Outline and maintain maintenance practices for automated systems and programs. Design and implement software, electrical and mechanical automated systems from concept to full development and production launch. Support and assist maintenance personnel with diagnosing software and electrical system problems. Support Multiple PLC and electrical controlled automated systems. Design, implement and support all human machine interface (HMI) hardware and software for automated systems. Apply electrical and electronic theory and related knowledge to design, build, repair, calibrate, and/or modify electrical components, circuitry, controls and machinery. Review equipment for electrical and electronic controls and recommend action to implement. Assist in upgrading equipment. Develop control-wiring schematics and maintain files. Maintain all electrical and electrical upgrades on software and in hard copy in an orderly manner. Maintain back-up files for all PLC and Robotic programs in an orderly manner. Create documentation for production support and data collection. Recommend stock items and quantities for equipment spare parts and production materials. Recommend preventative maintenance items and schedules for equipment. Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. At least five years of experience in the practical application of engineering technologies to manufacturing processes with emphasis on automation, programming, vision systems, and control systems. Trouble-shoot and program robotics, PLC's, and electronics with automated equipment or machinery. Experienced in an engineering field within a manufacturing environment. Competence with PLCs, including programming. Competence in personal computer Windows applications including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD. Technical leadership.
