This maintenance role demands proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems, along with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical components. Prior experience with PLCs is advantageous, and candidates must demonstrate strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently. The position involves performing preventative maintenance on essential plant machinery, including extruders, furnaces, and water systems, as well as inspecting equipment daily to ensure smooth operation. Installation or modification of equipment to enhance reliability and safety may also be part of the duties. Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to breakdown calls across departments to diagnose and repair equipment issues efficiently. Prioritize repair tasks, collaborating with leadership to ensure production downtime is minimized. Identify and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components, replacing faulty parts as needed. Perform mechanical repairs, including bearings, couplings, and gear reducers, ensuring equipment remains operational. Address electrical components such as power supplies, circuit boards, and electronic controls. Conduct preventive maintenance on plant machinery, including extruders, melting furnaces, and casting units. Inspect and maintain auxiliary systems like air compressors, water cooling systems, and extrusion presses daily. Assist with installing or modifying equipment to enhance system reliability and safety protocols. Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety and company guidelines. Support general maintenance and housekeeping activities within the plant. Assist with additional duties as assigned by management to ensure smooth operations. Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of five years' experience in industrial maintenance or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Associate degree or technical certification in welding, electrical controls, or industrial maintenance preferred. Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, with practical knowledge of relay logic and PLC systems. Experience working with mechanical systems, including bearings, gearboxes, and piping installation. Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and manuals. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced industrial environment. Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in conditions involving heat, humidity, and airborne particles. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach to maintenance tasks. Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening; eligibility to work in the United States is required.
