Summary Under general supervision processes all criminal warrants upon receipt.

Duties and Responsibilities

Enters criminal warrants into Texas Crime Information Center and the National Crime Information Center (TCIC/NCIC) system and updates electronic files Maintain statistics and prepare reports Contacts law enforcement agencies and other outside agencies to verify if warrant is active Receives from law enforcement officers, investigators or medical examiners crime scene evidence and/or seized property Answers telephone, routes calls and takes messages utilizing some discretion Performs filing and other clerical activities Performs other duties as required Minimum Qualifications

High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate, and three (3) years data entry, general office or administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Good knowledge of Texas Criminal Penal Codes; good knowledge of TCIC/NCIC codes and extradition laws; knowledge of basic office procedures Skill in operating personal computer and basic office equipment; skill in coding, filing and organizing data Ability to understand and follow instructions and strict operating procedures; ability to maintain records, compile data and organize reports; ability to communicate with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other government agencies, outside organizations, co-workers, other County employees, news media and the public Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test Must be certified TCIC/NCIC every two (2) years May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Constantly working in indoor conditions Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10 pounds Occasionally moves about the office Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery Positions self to perform essential functions Must be able to remain in a stationary position
