Advance Industrial Mechanical (AIM) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician to join our growing team. This role is focused on large commercial HVAC systems and chiller technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing some of the largest and most complex HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, and low-temperature refrigeration systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience troubleshooting systems up to 400 tons, conducting advanced airflow evaluations, and diagnosing complex HVAC system issues. This position also provides the opportunity to mentor junior technicians, fostering skill development and contributing to the growth of the entire team.

Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and Repair Large Commercial HVAC Systems (up to 400 tons): Diagnose and repair complex HVAC systems, including chillers, VRF systems, and water-cooled systems. Screw Chiller Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine and emergency maintenance on screw chillers, addressing mechanical and electrical issues. ERV Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and repair Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs), optimizing energy efficiency in commercial buildings. VRF Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems to ensure optimal performance. Blower Shaft & Bearing Replacements: Replace blower shafts and large bearings to maintain system integrity and performance. Advanced Airflow & Ductwork Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of airflow and ductwork systems, making recommendations for improvements and optimizing system efficiency. Cooling Tower Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on large commercial cooling towers, ensuring proper operation and energy efficiency. Low-Temperature Refrigeration Systems: Troubleshoot and repair low-temperature refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. Water-Cooled Systems Diagnostics: Diagnose and repair water-cooled HVAC systems, including pumps, chillers, and related components. Pump Alignment & Replacement: Perform maintenance and alignment of pumps, ensuring optimal functionality and longevity. Mentorship: Provide training, support, and guidance to Level 1-3 Technicians, helping them develop their skills and advance within the company. Performance Expectations:
Maintain an efficiency rate of 85%+ for all service calls and tasks. Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Complete tasks on time and in adherence to company policies, procedures, and industry standards. Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating technical issues and solutions. 5+ years of experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of large commercial HVAC systems (including chillers, VRF, cooling towers, etc.). Expertise in advanced refrigeration systems, airflow evaluation, and ductwork systems. Ability to diagnose and repair complex systems up to 400 tons. Strong background in cooling tower maintenance, pump alignment, and low-temperature refrigeration systems. Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and technical manuals for HVAC systems. Advanced troubleshooting skills in systems such as water-cooled systems, ERVs, and VRF systems. Experience with building automation systems (BAS) is a plus. Preferred Qualifications:
NATE Senior-Level Certification (Preferred). Advanced Refrigeration Certification (Preferred). Chiller-Specific Certification (Preferred). BAS Training (Preferred) for troubleshooting and integrating building automation systems with HVAC equipment. EPA Universal Certification for refrigerant handling. Experience with large commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, VRF, ERV, and water-cooled systems. Ability to mentor and guide junior technicians (Level 1-3). Excellent communication skills for effective customer interactions and team collaboration. Clean driving record and the ability to operate a company vehicle. Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 80 lbs) and work in a variety of physical conditions.
