POSITION SUMMARY:

The

Production Control Clerk

plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing operations by coordinating production planning, tracking work-in-process, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of inventory and job status. This position serves as a key liaison between sales, purchasing, and production, ensuring customer expectations are met and maintaining an efficient workflow. The clerk is responsible for maintaining production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, processing job labels, and ensuring accurate job closures. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to support daily shipping performance and production goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Administrative support for production tracking and reporting work in process, compiling reports on inventory. Develops production plans and schedules with the supervisor based on available output to meet customer demand Tracks production work in process Daily, weekly, and monthly review of existing and future production planning preparation. Reviews monthly sales forecast projections Maintains production planning data using an established format that is accurate and quantifiable. Ensures the schedule supports daily on-time shipping performances in line with operational excellence goals and customer demands. Acts as a conduit between sales, purchasing, and production to meet customers' expectations. Monitors finished goods inventory levels. Monitors production capacity constraints and alerts necessary team members of issues. Creates, assesses for accuracy, prints, and distributes labels and jobs used to process customer orders. Processes and prints labels using the established computer programs and software. Accurately closes and allocates jobs to appropriate work cells on a daily basis. Daily review of open sales orders to ensure each order is progressing properly. Checks inventory status on component products. Reports all safety issues to the supervisor for immediate corrective action and works with team members as an advocate for a safe working environment. Participate in team meetings. All other duties as assigned. JOB KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

Understanding of manufacturing and assembly production processes. Familiarity with production planning and scheduling principles. Knowledge of inventory control and work-in-process tracking. Experience with ERP systems and production planning software (e.g., EPCO or PDU). Basic understanding of capacity planning based on the sales forecast. Ability to compile and analyze production and inventory reports. Ability to develop and adjust production schedules based on output and customer demand. Ability to monitor and manage production capacity constraints. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across departments (sales, purchasing, production). Ability to identify and escalate issues affecting production or inventory levels. Ability to maintain accuracy in job allocation and closure processes. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the Production Control Clerk is expected to collaborate closely with production supervisors, team leads, and cross-functional departments to ensure production schedules and inventory levels are aligned with customer requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing administrative tasks. Frequent use of a computer and office equipment, including keyboard, mouse, and printer. Ability to operate to complete forklift operation certification and to operate a forklift. Occasional lift/push/pull/carry of materials or boxes up to 50lbs. Ability to physically walk and maneuver throughout the production cells and warehouse floor to check inventory and job status. Visual acuity to read labels, reports, and computer screens. Will require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the production floor in areas requiring PPE. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certification or coursework in business, supply chain, or manufacturing preferred. Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a production, inventory, control, planning, or administrative support role within a manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling software strongly preferred. Familiarity with label printing software and inventory management systems is a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT

All position requires the ability to work well with more than one department and individuals in various roles and work well independently to complete the essential functions required.

WAREHOUSE AND PRODUCTION POSITIONS: Warehouse and production positions are required to focus on safety as a key priority during the entire workday. Safety procedures must be followed, and safety concerns must be reported. All employees are responsible for making safety their responsibility. Work will be performed in a warehouse/plant-type environment where temperatures may fluctuate. Responsibilities may require the performance of duties outside the warehouse, but exposure to severe weather and extreme conditions will be minimal. Must be able to work in a team environment and perform duties that may require more than one employee's participation to complete the task. Required to work well independently and with minimal supervision. OTHER:

Regular and consistent attendance is required. Employees must abide by all company policies. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn while performing job duties that require the use of PPE.
