JOB PURPOSE

:

Nikon Metrology is seeking an initiative-taking Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Specialist who will be responsible for processing inbound and outbound shipments while ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of inventory movement.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Will include, but not limited to the following:

Shipping & Receiving Ensure specifications, quality, and quantity of orders are correct. Verify accuracy and quality of incoming shipments. Pick, pack, and load orders for shipping. Determine appropriate shipping methods using knowledge of procedures, customer requirements, and transportation options. Pack items securely using appropriate materials to minimize damage during transit. Affix accurate shipping labels as per company and customer guidelines. Load and unload delivery trucks using manual or mechanical means (forklift, pallet jack, handcart). Inventory Management

Verify stock and identify discrepancies. Record, reject, and report damaged or short shipments; correspond with shippers to resolve issues. Enter incoming shipments into the computer system and label items according to procedure. Open crates and containers using hand tools; inspect contents for damage or defects. Move inventory to appropriate locations using manual or mechanical equipment. Order Fulfilment

Confirm stock quantities when a discrepancy may occur. Ensure Transfer Orders are handled properly (complete ship and receive goods). Process Return Orders as directed by the OF Coordinator. Records & Documentation

Update and maintain computerized records of goods movement. Maintain accurate inventory records; conduct regular physical counts and reconcile with system totals. Maintain custody receipts for items out on repair or loan. Obtain authorized signatures for all outbound shipments. Safety & Compliance

Operate tools, vehicles, and equipment according to safety procedures. Follow all safety guidelines for lifting, carrying, and handling goods. Identify and report unsafe conditions, correct hazards when possible. Complete all required computer-based recordkeeping and physical files. Perform daily forklift inspections and detect needed repairs on vehicles and equipment. General Duties

Maintain clean and organized warehouse conditions. Drive to various locations to pick up or deliver materials as required. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support in other maintenance areas during staff shortages or absences. Occasionally work extra hours or weekends as requested by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Understanding of shipping and receiving procedures, including order verification, packing, labelling, and selecting appropriate shipping methods. Familiarity with inventory control practices, including stock verification, damage reporting, and system entry. warehouse and/or distribution center experience. Certificates, License, Registrations:

High school diploma Valid Michigan Driver's License. Forklift experience with certification or ability to become certified. DESIRABLE

Familiarity with tariffs and import/export regulations is preferred. Knowledge of ERP systems, knowledge of Navision a plus. COMPETENCIES

Strong attention to detail and punctuality. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficient in basic computer applications (Outlook, Excel). WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Routinely lifts or moved materials in the 25-50 lb range as part of daily responsibilities. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, move, and position materials. Regular interaction with forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. This role is based in a fast-paced warehouse environment where safety, accuracy, and efficiency are critical. Operate in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and physical demands.
