JOB SUMMARY •Responsible for safely transporting residents to and from arranged locations

QUALIFICATIONS •Have a high school education or equivalent. •Possess an unencumbered driver's license. •Possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). •Must have excellent communication skills. •Must be at least 18 years of age. •Has knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote and ensure safe transport at all times. •Must possess current CPR certification or become certified within ninety (90) days of employment. •Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner. •Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS •Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day. •Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. •Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. •Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, family members, personnel, and support agencies. •Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability. •Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, young, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people. •Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, resident in excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the day. •Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the (HIV) AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS •Follow safety rules as residents board and exit the bus or near cross streets near bus stops. •Complies with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe manner, •Checks the condition of the vehicle at least monthly and reports any malfunctions or necessary repairs as needed. •Maintains order among passengers while in transit. •Picks up and/or drops off residents at scheduled locations while following strict time schedules. •Maintains cleanliness of the interior of the vehicle at all times. •Attends community outings as assigned by the Administrator and/or designee. •Performs other related duties as assigned.
