Clinical Research Manager

Oversees and guides the daily operations of clinical research to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. Provides strategic direction and leadership to research program. Works closely with cross-functional teams, including scientists, clinicians, residents, and administrative staff, to shape and research strategies that align with the organization's mission and goals. Responsible for overseeing and operationalizing research programs, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation in the field. Responsibilities: Works with and educates physicians, sponsors and other research staff to acquire and implement new research protocols. Stays abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in clinical research, translating insights into actionable strategies for the organization. Supports the development and implementation of key performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency, quality, efficiency, and alignment with institutional research goals. Provides scientific and strategic guidance to research teams, ensuring the highest standards of scientific rigor, quality assurance, compliance and ethics in clinical research. Improves workflow optimization by developing new and improving existing workflows, policies and SOPs that promote standardization and best practices across research activities within the health system. Develops and drives the planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical trials and research studies, and oversee regulatory affairs and compliance aspects of the clinical research. Provides direct supervision of Research Specialist managers, Research Regulatory managers and all staff reporting to them in their absence. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including academic partners, industry leaders, and funding agencies, to enhance research opportunities and apply for funding. Develops specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives, which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization. Develops and implements comprehensive research strategies, fostering innovation, collaboration, funding for new study protocols, and cross-disciplinary approaches to advance research knowledge and maintains comprehensive specialty-specific clinical research portfolio. Competencies: Education and Certification Requirements: Masters (Required) Additional Job Information: Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Extensive knowledge of clinical trial operations, research methodologies, and regulatory compliance in clinical research. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Five (5) years of health care work experience and two (2) years' supervisory experience required. Clinical training as part of post-secondary education preferred. Proven experience in leading and managing clinical research programs and teams in an academic, healthcare, or industry setting. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Master's degree in research, biology, chemistry, physical sciences, social sciences, public health, health sciences, math, statistics or related field of study.
