Overview
Power Delivery Project Manager role at POWER Engineers (Member of WSP) seeking a Project Manager with experience in transmission and distribution projects for the Power Delivery Project Management team. POWER Engineers is expanding its capabilities to meet customers growing and evolving needs, presenting an opportunity for a self-starter seeking an exciting career change. The position is located in Overland Park (metro Kansas City) with the potential to work remotely from a mutually acceptable CONUS location. The successful candidate may work remotely full-time from a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site, with periodic travel to POWER offices as needed. Responsibilities Promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships Manage status reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable and unbilled for each project in your portfolio Collaborate with project design teams Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams Develop & maintain schedules, lead/participate in project status meetings with project teams and clients, oversee budgets, participate in proposal preparation, and take a leading role in building and maintaining client relationships Work primarily with Power Delivery, but may interface with other divisions within POWER depending on the project Travel to client and company locations periodically Demonstrated project management skills should include CPM scheduling, budgeting and cost analysis, managing project teams, proposal writing, client relationship development, and project presentations
Required Education/Experience
Bachelors degree from an accredited university in engineering, engineering management, construction management, or 10+ years of professional experience in the electric power and communications industry Minimum of five (5) years of applicable industry experience Minimum of three (3) years of relevant project management experience Relevant experience includes project management and/or lead engineering experience on small- to medium-scale Transmission and Distribution projects Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools General understanding of transmission systems Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility and/or consulting setting
Desired Education/Experience
Seven (7) or more years of project management experience preferred Familiarity with regional utilities in the respective region Professional Engineering registration or PMP certification, with preference to candidates who hold both Experience in project controls preferred
