Forklift Operator- Portland and Smyrna Openings
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to efficiently manage shipments and materials within our facility. The role involves pulling orders for shipment, managing shipping reports, and ensuring the safe and accurate movement of parts and containers.
Responsibilities
Pull orders for efficient shipment to customers.
Manage Direct Ship Ports, Truck Load Reports, and other shipping functions as trained and required.
Move parts from Market Area to Assembly Lines, and from lines to Finished Goods.
Supply Presses with containers and move stampings to Market Area.
Operate switcher truck to move trailers as needed.
Inspect and maintain work area according to 5S principles.
Follow all safety procedures, including towmotor start-up checks and dock inspections.
Ensure quality by inspecting racks and shipments for damage and proper labeling.
Maintain productivity by pulling parts in FIFO order and supporting company goals.
Provide input for reducing line downtime and maintain towmotor equipment.
Perform a variety of duties with changing priorities efficiently.
Report production activities accurately.
Lead by example in attendance, quality, and accountability.
Essential Skills
3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Forklift, tow motor, and sit-down forklift experience.
Ability to lift 50 lbs without mechanical assistance.
Good basic math knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Successful completion of tow motor training and certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience with RF scanners, packing, loading, shipping and receiving, and order picking.

The role is based in an automotive manufacturing environment, with working hours typically from 3:00pm to 1:45am. The facility adheres to safety and quality standards, and the position requires adherence to dress codes and safety protocols.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.85/hr.
