Overview
Sr Database Administrator
is responsible for the ongoing management, optimization, and support of Community Health Choice's database systems across both on-premises and cloud environments. This includes administration of Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Power BI/Fabric, and Azure-based database services. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills, a proactive mindset for performance tuning and risk mitigation, and the ability to function independently with minimal supervision. Availability for after-hours support and strong troubleshooting capabilities are essential. Responsibilities
Independently conduct SQL Server performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization. Monitor and validate weekly backups (full, differential, and transaction log); resolve issues proactively. Mitigate risks within the database environment and adapt to changing priorities. Partner with application teams for testing and deployment; schedule and execute SQL Server maintenance in line with ITIL best practices. Deliver end-to-end technical support and resolution for database incidents. Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing initiatives. Respond to and manage database requests via ServiceNow; install, configure, and maintain databases; manage SQL objects and user access controls per the runbook. Contribute to departmental goals and process improvements. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. ITIL certification required or must obtain within 6 months of hire. Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate preferred. 4 years in Microsoft SQL Database management, including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and Azure Fabric. Software Proficiencies: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SolarWinds DPA or equivalent monitoring tool.
