AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure customers have continual access to innovation. Youll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. The successful candidate will collect customer needs, mine large data sets from across AWS Infrastructure, build visualizations and tools for business partners, generate insights to help senior leaders make critical business decisions. The BI Engineer will design metrics to measure performance, build reporting capabilities, and interact with business leaders relying on the metrics created. Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to support analytical and business needs. Work directly with customers to understand business problems and propose analyses and solutions. Partner with data engineers to develop automated solutions. Develop a deep understanding of data sources and identify which to use to solve specific problems. Prioritize BI requests, allocate work across the team, and communicate with customers. Lead the creation of user-friendly, repeatable reporting to minimize ad hoc requests. Hire, mentor, and develop BI engineers. Serve as a senior SME for SQL and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). Write high-quality SQL to retrieve and analyze data from relational databases (e.g., AWS Redshift). Manage internal customer communications channels (e.g., wikis, data dictionaries). Basic Qualifications
5+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience 5+ years of BI/analytics team leadership, including employee development and performance management Experience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar Experience with R, Python, SAS, Matlab, or other statistical/machine learning software Experience with SQL and ETL Preferred Qualifications
