Job Title

Responsible for receiving, sorting, collecting, preparing, and distributing intra-district and U.S. mail and packages according to established schedules. Essential Job Functions

Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail District wide, may drive a vehicle to various sites to conduct work. Sorts, weighs, packages, stamps, meters and insures mail items as needed; learns and applies appropriate related postal regulations, including bulk, express and certified mail; participates in bulk mailing activities; performs arithmetic calculations accurately. Processes outgoing mail from the District Office, using cost-effective and time-efficient methods. Pick-up and delivers departmental mail daily. Maintains computerized records of mailroom transactions and employee lists; prepares routine reports and submits to appropriate administrator. Operates a computer, postage meter and other mailroom equipment and tools, and standard office equipment as assigned. Performs clerical duties related to the preparation and distribution of mail relates items. Wraps and prepares parcels and boxes for shipment. Provides information to personnel regarding postal, UPS, Federal Express, and other vendor rates and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. Minimum Qualifications

Requires a High School diploma or GED. Degree Equivalency Formula: Bachelor's Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience. Master's Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master's degrees are required, years for Bachelor's Degrees must be included.
